Julio Madrid | Lore's 3rd Anniversary
A return to the beginning
Tasting Notes | Plum · Raisin · Mild Citrus · Silky Body
The Founding Roast: Julio Madrid
This coffee marks a rare collaboration with Julio César Madrid Tisnés in Risaralda, Colombia. Three years ago, one of our earliest single origin offerings came from La Riviera Estate--a washed Colombian coffee that left a lasting impression on us with its plum, raisin, mild citrus, and smooth structure.
For our third anniversary, Julio created a custom blend exclusively for Lore, designed as a tribute to that first release. Rather than simply offering a new lot, this coffee was composed to echo the cup that helped begin our work: balanced, elegant, gentle to roast, and deeply familiar in the best way.

The Project
This is not a standard offering. Julio prepared three boxes of 24 kilograms specifically for us, totaling 72 kilograms. From that, only a small number of finished bags will be possible, making this a limited anniversary release tied directly to Lore’s beginning.
Risaralda sits within Colombia’s historic coffee axis, one of the most important coffee-producing regions in the country. Julio’s work belongs to that lineage while continuing to reflect the care, precision, and quality that made our first coffee from him so memorable.
The Meaning
This coffee is a tribute to our first steps as a roaster. The original La Riviera release helped define our earliest sense of what a clean, expressive Colombian coffee could be. Now, three years later, Julio has made something just for us: a return to that first cup, carried forward with gratitude.
