Basha Bekele has been involved with coffee since childhood, growing up with his family’s coffee traditions. He inherited his farm from his grandfather and has been dedicated to producing high-quality coffee since 2018. In 2019, he joined the Buriso Small Farming Group and began exploring export opportunities. By 2022, Basha decided to form his own group, known as Basha Group, comprising a few small farmers. As one of the younger members, he embraced technology, using platforms like Facebook and Telegram to learn about coffee and apply best practices in his processing work.
Basha is proactive in listening to advice from coffee professionals and implementing their recommendations, which has significantly improved the quality of his coffee. His farm benefits from the region’s high altitudes, which exceed 2000 meters above sea level, contributing to the production of high-quality coffee. The Sidama region, where his farm is located, is renowned for its optimal growing conditions. Coffee trees are grown intercropped with fruits and shaded by semi-forest cover, enhancing the coffee’s flavor profile.
The small-holder producers in Basha’s group are well-supported and motivated under his leadership. They sell their coffee directly to buyers like Falcon. Additionally, Basha’s group has been connected with COQUA Trading through our Addis Office, which manages milling and export documentation for smallholders. The coffees produced by Basha Group are known for their diverse cup profiles, ranging from spicy and fruity to juicy with undertones of pineapple and floral notes.
✅ Our specialty-graded coffees are crafted with the highest standards: each coffee is sustainably grown and third-party verified for clean, complex, clear, and sweet coffee you can trust.

FAQs
What is your roasting and production schedule?
We roast to order every Wednesday, processing all orders placed before 9:00 AM PST that day. Once roasted, orders are packed and shipped by the end of Thursday.
Retail orders placed after the Wednesday morning cutoff are usually roasted the following week. However, we often roast extra to cushion in your regular orders, so if your coffee is available, it may still ship in the week!
Grinding Schedule: All ground coffee is ground to order just before shipping, so you can be assured your coffee has arrived as fresh as possible.
