We are dedicated to serving the highest quality coffee we can find. We are passionate about sourcing unique and pure, high end single varietal coffees that were grown at high elevations. The purest expression is coffee that has not only been sourced from a single origin of country, but a single variety, from one farm. This means that what we're tasting is the essence of the fruit of one plant. This is the truest way to experience what makes specialty coffee so special.
This particular single origin, single variety coffee was produced by the expert Villatoro family. The Villatoro's produced this Red Bourbon at their newest high elevation farm, Punta Del Cerro (Tip of the Mount), in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. The Villatoro family has been growing coffee in Guatemala for more than seventy years and has recently become one of our favorite producers.
The Villatoro's consistently produce excellent single varietal coffees and this naturally processed Red Bourbon is the perfect expression of a sweet, fruit forward tasting coffee. We found it to have a medium-juicy body, with sweet strawberry being the first and most prominent flavor detectable, with purple grape balancing it out and a bright starfruit like finish. This well rounded coffee is both unique and expressive.

FAQs
What is your roasting and production schedule?
We roast to order every Wednesday, processing all orders placed before 9:00 AM PST that day. Once roasted, orders are packed and shipped by the end of Thursday.
Retail orders placed after the Wednesday morning cutoff are usually roasted the following week. However, we often roast extra to cushion in your regular orders, so if your coffee is available, it may still ship in the week!
Grinding Schedule: All ground coffee is ground to order just before shipping, so you can be assured your coffee has arrived as fresh as possible.
